Introduction

In this article we are going to run through how to create a baseline assessment for your children that will be starting at your setting.

The baseline assessment is to gauge where your children are currently performing in their learning and development. You can set your children's currently learning and development levels.

Tips

You will need to set up your Learning Frameworks, if you have not done this yet please go to Setting your Learning Framework and go through the settings before continuing

How to do a Baseline Assessment

To perform a baseline assessment, you will need to;

Step 1 - Navigate to Children

Step 2 - Select your child that you want to perform a baseline assessment

Step 3 - Select EYFS Reports

Step 4 - Select Individual Monitoring

Step 5 - Input all monitoring titles against the area of learning for Baseline Report

Step 6 - Click Set Baseline at the top right hand corner of screen

Step 7 - Select date for Baseline report and click Set New Baseline

Please note, this function is for children starting at your setting to give an overall assessment of their progress in learning and development. Any Learning and Development observations made after that point will superseed the Baseline that you have created.

Also, you cannot set a Baseline Assessment on children that have already have Learning and Development observations made on their profile
