Learn how to create booking patterns for children

Introduction

Now you can assign booking patterns to your children at the nursery. This is going to give you a better oversight of which children are due in on what days as well as plan for future occupancy!

You will also be able to mark children's planned holidays as well as any absent days the children have taken.

Tips and Hints

Before we being with Booking patterns, you will need to set up;

If you have not done so, please go to this article which will show you how to create sessions and opening times for your setting

How do I access children's bookings?

To access the children's booking you will need to go to Children > Select Child > Bookings which will take you to the monthly calendar view

You can look at different months by selecting the drop-down menu and selecting the month you would like to see

How to add a booking pattern to my child?

To add a booking pattern to your child you will need to select the date you would like this booking to begin.

Key Note: Booking can only be made from today's date and cannot select any past dates.

By selecting your starting date a popup will appear that will allow you to add an event. events come in two types - bookings and absence

Step 1 - Select the session for the booking

Step 2 - Select the room that this child will be attending - The child's main room will be selected by default

Step 3 - Select the date range

Step 4 - Select the Days of the week

Step 5 - Select the occurrence - every week or every other week

Step 6 - Click Save

Now that your booking pattern has been saved you will see the booking pattern appear on the child's bookings calendar

How to add absent days to my child?

If you need to add absent days to the children's bookings, start by selecting the first day of their absence.

Tips and Hints -You can add an absence for individual days or a full date range

Once the day has been selected, navigate to the Absence tab. Then you will need to;

Step 1 - Select type - Holiday, Unwell, or Other

Step 2 - Select the date or days of absence

Step 3 - Add details

Step 4 - Click save

Once saved, this will show in your children's bookings calendar

Creating an absence for a child importantly does not cancel a child's booking patterns as it is important to keep hold of this data. An absent child will appear on the register but only for the days that appear on their booking pattern
